Hemel Alfa 75 verwijderen

Zoals vaker gebeurt bij auto's van tientallen jaren oud, begint de hemelbekleding van mijn 75 ook te hangen. Ik kan wel wat vinden over het bekleden zelf, maar ik denk dat ik maar laat doen (als iemand tips heeft voor een bedrijf of iemand in het noorden om dit te doen, hoor ik het graag).

Maar het hemeltje moet er nog wel uit natuurlijk. Ik ben niet heel handig, maar volgens mij moet dit zelf te doen zijn. Kan iemand mij vertellen of met een paar foto's laten zien hoe dit moet? Of heeft iemand een link waarin dit wordt uitgelegd?

Het gaat om een eerste serie 75 uit 1986 zonder schuifdak oid. Ik hoor het graag.

Ja die had ik zelf ook gezien. Misschien is de info in dat topic voldoende voor de ervaren klusser, maar voor mij is het niet genoeg. Hoe begin ik bijvoorbeeld en in welke volgorde moet ik verder?

Here is the process I used to remove the old and install the new headliner. All in all, not counting the time to recover the backer board, it took me less than 30 minutes to remove the old headliner and install the new one.

* Remove the two screws on plastic cover at rear center just above rear window.
* Remove the single screw on metal backing under that plastic cover
* Pull off two small rectangular plastic covers on each side right after transition from rear to side of car. Under those plastic covers are u-shaped metal brackets, each with a screw holding them in.
* Remove the four screws for each of the handles above the doors, the little covers open from the inner towards the outer part of the handle, use one of those tiny screwdrivers to pry them open, careful not to mark the plastic.
* Remove the two screws at the pivot mount for each sun shade (to get the sunshade out you have to rotate it at an angle)
* Remove the single screw at the clip end of each sun shade
* Pull off the sunroof motor cover
* Pull off rear view mirror
* Remove the four screws holding in mirror mounting bracket
* Remove the two nuts and two screws holding in roof console (where the front window and sunroof buttons are)
* Doing this carefully should end up with headliner resting on the seat headrests, be care to not let it bend too much.
* I then pulled the two rear round and the two rectangular lights out of their metal brackets in the headliner and disconnected their wires (after taking a pic so I'd remember which wires went on which spades)
* Bend back the metal clips holding the wires to the backer board
* Slowly lower the front seats towards the rear of the car (like you are going to sleep in them)
* Once they are all the way down you can carefully (with a little bending) get the headliner out of the front passenger door

For reinstallation I put a plastic garbage can on the center arm rest to hold the front up and then reattached stuff from the rear forward (so actually in the order I took it off).

After this it turns out I didn't have enough material left over to cover the sunroof part so I had to go back to the fabric store to get another yard. I got lucky, all they had left was one yard and it had a couple creases in it so they sold it to me as a remnant for half price . This will be a little more challenging because I'll need to remove all of the foam backing as there is not enough clearance for it to slide properly if the foam is still on.

Het gelukt! Ik ben zelf maar aan het bekleden geslagen en ik ben er best tevreden mee, zeker omdat ik niet zo'n klusser ben. De aanwijzingen hierboven en youtube video's over het bekleden waren zeer nuttig. Het hemeltje terug plaatsen was eigenlijk nog het meeste gehannes, vooral bij de zonnekleppen.

@Lancelot, waar heb je de bekleding vandaan en weet je wat voor soort stof het is?

Was het lastig om het vouw/plooi-vrij te krijgen?

Komt van plaatselijk stoffenboer in Hilversum. Was niet heel rekbaar en dat is niet handig, ik zou voor stof gaan met wat meer rek. Heb nauwelijks plooien (uiteindelijk), maar na de verlichting in het midden kom je, als je van voren af werkt, in de problemen. Je houdt dan een stuk over. Daar heb ik een lange plooi van gemaakt welke ik er tussenuit heb gesneden. Dit soort kunstgrepen wil je liever vermijden.

Zou je weer van voren na achter werken (er vanuit gaande dat je een meer rekbare stof zou gebruiken)? Of denk je dat een andere volgorde beter is?

Ja. Het voorste deel zie je toch meer. Dus verpruts ik liever de achterkant. Met de lijm die ik gebruikte (Bison tix uit een potje) heb je niet heel veel kansen tot herstel. Zit zeg maar vrij snel vast.

Voor zo'n klus kun je het best spuitlijm gebruiken. Op de hemel spuiten en dan de stof aanbrengen.
De droging is langzaam genoeg om de stof netjes op de hemel in vorm te kunnen drukken.
(inderdaad rekbare stof gebruiken).

Máár: let wel op dat je geen standaard spuitlijm gebruikt maar een zogenaamde "100+"
of iets dergelijks. Die is na droging tegen veel hogere temperaturen bestand.

Zelf een keer ervaren waarom dat belangrijk is. Een hemel van een auto (non-Alfa)
op deze manier hersteld. Het resultaat was prachtig, maar toen we daarna een
bloedhete zomer kregen liet de stof weer los van de hemel, vanwege de warmte...

Ik heb ook hittebestendige spuitlijm en rekbare stof gekocht. Is misschien iets duurder, maar dat is tientjeswerk. Voordeel is inderdaad dat het niet meteen helemaal vast zit, waardoor je nog wat fouten kunt herstellen. Ik heb er helaas toch 1 kleine plooi in gekregen, maar dat is niet noemenswaardig.

Hemelbekleding en spuitlijm bestellen op schuimrubberbetaalbaar. Stof is goed rekbaar en heeft een foamlaag aan de onderkant. Heb zelf 1 hemel gedaan met spuitlijm en 1 met bison tix uit een pot. Voorkeur is spuitlijm, allemaal te bestellen op schuimrubberbetaalbaar.nl
